Should be an epic event. Not sure whether to take the Mk2 or the (don't laugh, it's wicked on track and bomb proof) 1.8 sport mx5.

Ferry only cost me £36 too.

For those who have been to the 'Ring before, the layout of this trackday includes part of the GP track and you can do a full blast run down the Dottingger Hohe straight (where you normally join from the carpark)


My pinto'd mk2 is having her maiden track run out at Rockingham next month. That will dictate whether or not she goes or the hairdresser mobile makes the trip

Anyone else been to the 'Ring in their mk1/2 out of interest?

You will love it I took my mk1 mex last year it’s a great circuit. Some of the hills are so steep and the carousels are like no other track (but a bit hard on the suspension). Hope you enjoy your trip.

Brilliant experience, just don't have a bump, as it will cost you a fortune to get recovered !

I know about the hills being steep. I was in a team of 4 which quickly turned into a team of three for the 24 bike race last year (that's push bike, not motorbike) and one after the karussell is epic steep

The beauty of this event is it's a proper trackday, although you are still liable for the barrier repair if you bin it

I'll be driving back whatever I take so won't be going flat out like a trackday over here.

It will be my fourth Nurburgring trip. I'm REALLY looking forward to it

Plus, it's great to spend quality time with my Dad doing proper blokes stuff

Aled and I blasted round there in the MK2 RS, great experience, some awesome cars and bikes to see too.

Keep out of the "Kitty Litter" its expensive to get towed out!

Looked at the attendees on the website. There are some proper full on track cars going Porsche 997 GT3 S2, 997 GT2 to name two

No bikes allowed on this, thank god. They are generally slow round there and don't let you past

If you're making a trip across, get registered on here They are a cool lot, and you can ask some daft questions if you haven't done many trips before.

If you can't be arsed registering on there, and still have questions, just pm me and I can find out. I probably know half a dozen people who live in and around Nurburg to ask about general stuff.

There are loads of my mates out at Spa and the 'Ring that weekend if you need any help or get into any mechanical trouble. Plus, everyone loves an old Ford
