  • RSOC membership...

Below is a statement made by the head of the regional groups Dave Easton....
    .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .......................
The new rule is local group stands at shows are for rsoc members

they can be an associate member with an st or whatever but must be an rsoc member

too many people just go to all the shows with the same benefits as a member and have not paid to join the rsoc

please be aware local groups can no longer charge a membership fee

you may charge £ 1 per month subs but not a yearly fee

    regards

    dave

    .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .........................

There will be a write up in the next Rallye News (RSOC magazine) explaining further.

Best thing the RSOC have done in a long time.

To many freeloaders who have nothing good to say about the RSOC but want to have their car on a group stand instead of leaving it in the carpark at shows.

          WELL DONE RSOC

A great decision. Gets rid of spongers who want the benefits for nothing. Oh Grum, local groups are not allowed to charge fees anymore. £1 per month subs are acceptable but must be paid monthly and not upfront

I agree with this but surley the only winner in this is the RSOC How can they say who goes and who doesnt to shows if folk dont want to be a member of the RSOC they why should they be. They may not agree with the way the RSOC is run so dont want to join. So now with this new rule, they can not show their pride and joy off at shows. How will they police this. Can some one explain to me how come the RSOC as such a hold on the little club please

Andy , not sure you fully understand.

What the club is saying is that at Regional Days or National Days etc if you wish to park your car on a local RSOC group stand or a stand organised by the National comittee (Frosty) then you must be a paid up member.

This does not stop you from attending regional days as a non member but you will be parked in the general car area.

So reading into Daves statement if I join as an associate member I can park my TR7 with the local group

                    wheres my application form ??

Seems the way forward, surely if you want to show off your pride and joy on your local group stand then you should be a member of the main club, stands to reason really.

How they are going to police it is another matter, it will surely be upto the local groups to do this which of course is open to bending of the rules!!

DRSOC now do not charge yearly subs, Grum is a tad out of the loop with his local group

So do you think this will reduce the numbers on group stands? or will we see a vast influx of "new clubs" being formed to get club stands.

I think our group will be sharing stands with other local groups as we have done in the past to bulk it out a bit.
