He's a really nice fella is Ramon. Very serious and professional about his rallying in them days. I shared a chalet with him one year on the Manx International around '89 or '90, and all he did was drink mineral water and scoff loads of pasta and bananas...no alcohol whatsoever and loads of carb's...he was there to win Gp.N and was totally focused on the job. Learned loads of little driving tips from him over the course of 4 or 5 days too...awesomely quick driver, really knew what he was doing.

actually spent quite a bit of time with Ramon, as you know Jeff Dewitt prepared the car and Ramon often stayed with jeff and the familly.
A very quick, underated driver is Ramon, and he is a really friendly guy, lol at the banana comment as when i collected him from Jeff's house once he had a bottle of perrier and two 'nana's, we stopped of at llanarthne (golden Globe) and had a meal. Thats where the pic was taken, with some of the West Wales RSOC lads.

Ramon drove my RS back through the lanes to pontyberem, is was quite enlightening !!!

he appears to have won most things in the south american rally championship, having had a look at his 'blog' / website recently
