I have seen on the news somewhere that all the staff are paid off and the track is closed.

Any of the local men know the inside story of what's going on with one of the top venues in Britian??

Not quite closed down

The current lease holder Gillete has handed the lease back to the owners of Donington Park

Plenty of life left in the venue yet

Gillete was unable to sell "his" lease so handed it back

BUT who in their right mind would buy a lease from Gillette ?

I am sure any potential buyers/leaseholders will prefer to deal with Donington Owners direct and not through a failed 3rd party

Lets hope it gets sorted as Donington is a great circuit to drive as well as spectate

From what I know the circuit is currently dug up and unraceable and all the staff are paid off.
Not looking too good

Also heard that Bernie Egg is sniffing about it trying to buy up the circuit at a fraction of it's price, but I would say that's just a good rumour.
