Well today was excellent as I have gone up north (Ripon in north yorkshire) to visit my family for xmas and my dad said he had just bought a mk2 2door escort that has been in dry storage for 18years.......and today we went to get it!!

It was partly prepared by dads friend for grasstracking but remained a spare shell that never got used! the shell is very solid and has all original chassis rails, floor pans and strut tops and is very solid with no signs of plating!!
I took loads of pics as it was burried under boxes etc and you couldnt tell it was in there!! I will upload the pics when i return home as camera wont work on dads computer!!!!!

This will be built into a xe powered rally car and work will commence early next year!! i shall start a resto thread too!!

sweet, i'm trying to convince my old man to get another old ford ...... he used to have a mk1 capri gt xlr and always says he misses it! would love him to get one so we can cruise around together

Its a small world, Belonged to a mate of mine He has had it years I must admit Ive been tempted a few times myself, He had one with a welded up sunroof I take it its not that one then??? Its a long time since I saw it

Our friend must be the same man then!! he is in the pic!
it has had a sunroof but we will replace the roof skin! the shell is very good and will not take much bringing back to life!!!
