Flipping heck boys . This is a sour thread .

I think I'm having it tough and then I listen to what others are going through and things are put well and truly into perspective. I wish you both well amd I promise to myself not to moan again about anything this side of Christmas.

It makes me think my life is blessed

Cheer up Eddie. I went through a tough time in recent years, hence me selling all the cars. Now, a couple of years on, I'm in a happier position and in a position to get all the nice things. eg, bought another house, had a cracking holiday and now bought an immaclate RS. I know the story behind your car, so I'll be treating it with the reverence that it deserves, plus as I said to you, you'll have the first refusal a buying it back should I decide to sell at the price I paid (to anyone else, it'll be the going rate)

As everyone else has said it's a matter of getting your priorities right, health, family welfare and weathering the current financial hardships cars come and go. I can't remember a year since getting my first mortgage when everything went right, that was 21 years, two marriages, one divorce, two kids, two dogs, three cats, four houses, one flat, nunerous health scares and three escorts ago!
I know the feeling "of why should I bother" too well, as you get over one problem and another comes along and kicks you in the b*lls just as you are getting straight, but then something will happen amongst the all the bad things that makes it all worth while and helps you to keep on fighting, like holding your new baby for the first time or finding out your worst health fears are unfounded. Lets face it we would be bored if everything was straight forward and easy, if you have had to struggle to get/achieve something, that's going to make it all the sweeter when you get it! Sometimes in the past I've thought to myself if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all, it shouldn't stop you from carrying on, use the "bad" to drive you on. Keep your chin up mate everything happens for a reason, you missing out on the car might just mean you get something better when you can afford it!

You've done nothing wrong Eddie, a lot of us get to a low now and again due to our own challenges that we have to face in our lives. Some of us just have bigger challenges than others but it does not always make it easier to fix our own. A lot of us are having a hard time at the moment and it's worth considering some the wise words mentioned on this thread, so as long as we can cheer each other up on here, that hopefully will help things a bit.
