      no they arent mad enough!

tbh, itll be worth it if it means that i dont have to strip the heater box out every couple of weeks, not to mention itll be a bit more effiecient as its new,

i think this is the first nos bit ive ever brought

A new heater matrix is certainly not a bad thing but, if you're gonna keep her, are you SURE the leak is from there? The 'standard' leak on an Escort 2 is the seam between the heater plenum (the big bulbous metal structure underneath the windscreen wipers, and the firewall. The leak then always appears inside the car as though it were from the heater assembly.

Get a mate to stand by with a garden hose. Crawl into the footwell, then reach up behind the heater placing your hand on the firewall (bulkhead). move your hand up as far as it goes inside the car and you will be stopped by the bend in the metal. Your hand is now above the carpet and soundproofing top edge and you can feel the bulkhead metal with your fingers in the exact centre of the car.
Now get your mate to hold a garden hose over the windscreen wiper scuttle and run water copiously, but not in a spray, into that grille - preferably off to one side a bit. If your fingers get wet, that's your problem, and welcome to the joys of ownership of a Mk2!

nice one mate, will do asap!

think i might take her off the road for a few months and get her sorted properly, its a bit difficult getting everything sorted when your using it as a daily drive!

theres a mk2 fiesta on my drive taxed and motttred that i can use for a few weeks!

not as much fun as the mk2 mind
