Why not fit a Mex type front spoiler and RS boot spoiler, you can get these in fibreglass and also fit a 5 speed box.
Will look a lot better than electrical tape.

do what all the other students do, don't bother going, save a fortune, i have heard the covering your car with baby oil helps with the fuel bills
