this week ive had a bit of a restoration on a really nice carving - the job itself was vandalised with both her right wing and arm/hand broken off

we got the job to replace the wing, which luckily was found nearby in the churchyard, but the hand had to be made from scratch - its always hard to replace stuff like this because the original marble has turned "sugary" and you are always wondering if the rest of the arm will crack when working on it

luckily it didnt, and after a session with her in the sandblaster shes back on form again and overlooking our yard at the mo - due to be refixed next week

have always done it - left school and went straight into stonemasonry/memorial work - always been arty farty as a few on here know - worked for two companies before going it alone last year - best thng i ever done too

yep, the vandalism always seems to be to the nice original different stuff that stamds out - this job was in amongst 50-0 others but stood out like a beacon - hate to say it and tempt fate, but will be waiting the call again i guess on her
