Look out for RUST . They rust like fooooook so pretend it's an Escort your looking at and you'll get the picture !!!!!!!! Clio Willys have wider front suspension track , sub frame etc compared to normal 16v clio so damaging it will be costly . Smashing into kerbs and pot holes can be bad news so when you drive it it should feel like a go-kart with instant turn in etc . Typical French build quality with flimsy interior and dodgey electrics but the 2.0 litre engine is the same as in Renault sport spider and pretty tough . Pain in the arse to work on (well it is french ) but no different to any other FWD car with a big engine shoe horned inside . Not much can out run one around the lanes as they handle ace . Foooookin excellent motors , my mates had his for years and apart from rust and the interior falling to bits it's been spot on .
sigpic 2.1 ATMO YB POWER .
Tick tock goes the clock and the clock don't lie .
12.4sec to 109mph With NO turbo , NO gay trailer , NO slicks , NO gas , NO race fuel and NO bits missing . Beat that !!!!
Have to concur with Gaz, they are a quick motor down the lanes, if you can live with the fact that every time you use a switch it feels like it's the last time it will work , go for it, the spares can be pricey though even for normal everyday service items so be aware.

Push everything to the limit
if it breaks it wasn't strong enough
rebuild it and try again !
Make sure its been regularly serviced too and levels topped up between services. Apparantly they use oil like a good un and if they're not checked can run dry and wreck the engine.
Always fancied one of these but never had one. Had a mi16 205 gti, a turbo technics 205 1.9 and a 309 gti and all were utterly brilliant
