anyone on here use a carcoon? and do they do a better job than just a dry well ventilated garage? are they needed more for older cars or any of you guys with modern cars think theres a need for it.

If you have a nice new car that you intend to keep for a long time then I would definately recommend it for the winter months as it helps to stop water sitting and eventually corroding your car. It also keeps the car ventilated

That one i believe is called an air chamber and has a rigid frame so it doesn`t have to be dismantled everytime you take the car out.
I used to have a carcoon and can thoroughly recomend it , in fact i will be getting one for my mk 2 when i get it.

I used to ise mine for my escort cossie. before i had it i would clean the car before going away offshore to work for 3 weeks and come home to the car with a layer of dust on it. Once i got the carcoon , same process clean the car put it in carcoon away for 3 weeks , come home and car would be just as i left it, gleaming !!!.

You can even put the car in wet as there is a panel at the back of it that you open and it blows all the water out !!!!.

Hope this helps, but yeah i would defo recomend it

if you you use the search option i think this has been discussed a few times,

i prefer the carcoon system, it also keeps the car free from dust etc, the framed chambers are good as well, no worries of dragging the item over the car due to the frame design, bought the carcoon over three years ago, one of the best things ive bought for the car

I use a Carcoon for the Mex and can't recommend them enough. I used to use a Cair O Port with the external rigid frame but found the fan system not best. The Carcoon's fans are far superior and are tripple filtered. I use mine from October to April in a Heated Garage. When the car comes out it looks as fresh as it went in with no dust etc. Brake discs are as new also. They come with their own battery conditioner to keep your battery in top condition. Highly recommended.

I use a Cair-O-Port which allows me to drive the car in and out. It is bigger than the Carcoon but as I want easy access and I have the space this suits me fine. Goto the site below to see them

The reason the engine bay wasn't painted is that it is original and had never been painted and had all the originsl stickers. If you wanted to go down the concourse route then definately paint the engine bay, but as I wasn't doing that I felt that leaving it original was in my opinion the best option, but others may disagree
              Cheers
