Is that what they fetch these days? The last LC road car we had in the family was my brothers 18th birthday pressie from my Dad. 1966 on a 'D'...absolutely MINT (and I mean MINT!!) condition and completely standard in every way, after a full bare shell, bare-metal strip down and fully repainted. Engine, transmission, brakes etc all completely overhauled. Rebuilt with as many new parts as we could source at the time including wings, bumpers, rims etc, and any other non-standard parts replaced with re-furbished originals from a spare donor car we had...and all work carried out to very high standards at our Ford main dealership in 1984. Given to my brother early '85...he reckoned it was too heavy on fuel so went back to his Mk.1 Escort 1300 Sport (!!)...and sold it for the princely sum of £1'800 about a year or so later, having covered less than 1000 miles in it.

So if a good one is £25k, what's a minty one worth...£35k+?? My brother always was a genius with things like that....

The Kray's mk10 jags where layed up in a barn in Hertfordshire when i first saw them in 1989 and had been in there since the early 70s, covered in chicken crap and straw. The Farmer has the old buff style logbooks in their names and "wouldn't sell for any price". To my knowledge they're still sitting in the same spot,at least they where 5 years ago. What would they be worth?

3000 miles worth £100,000 that makes mine worth a fortune at 144,000 miles and 4 lakes tours under its wheels

Not too sure what price I'd put on this.
TBH, it's the first mint low miles Mk1 Lotus I've seen. All the mint ones have been restored. With history like this or not, where on earth would you find another in brand new original condition with 3,000 miles one the clock????

In a race? Which car? - I can't recall any.
JC was kept out of UK saloon racing by tax from end 66 to his death and NGH had no Lotus/Ford contract in the Cortina era until 67.

No Lotus Cortina was actually used or "involved" in the GTR, as implied or stated in earlier posts. It just happened to be owned as a road car by one of those involved at the time.
(Neither is there any evidence whatsoever Bernie Ecclestone was behind the GTR, as so often rumoured...)
