will be interesting to see how many mk1,2 cars turn up for the display at Natty day, compared to another organised event like the lakes, avo

i guess its the owners choice to go to the shows they want to and i feel the over-riding preference is not to go to national days, or at least peeps take their cars there

the reggies do a great job, but with just over a month before the show, you only have to look at the registrars lists for the Natty show display - 4 x 1800, 4 x mexico, 1 x rs2000 .................. whereas the lakes fills out 150+ in less than 2 hours

maybe it just says that older peeps just dont value Natty day as the be all and end all anymore

............ and before anyone thinks this is just a rant, sat on the fence, it isnt - ive been involved in the organising of regional shows for many years so can safely say ive have seen both sides of it

'at the end of the day', peeps WILL only do what they want and however much tempting or persuading there is, it is down to them

"IF" the club slackened the rules to allow non RS versions in then it wouldn't be the RS Owners Club anymore............

To say you got "Nothing out of the club"....Please explain why???? There are many benifits to being a member like discounts on Insurance,Discounts from numerous specialists, Certified Agreed valuations etc etc. Gone now is the day when people wanted to be part of a club and to feel proud of being able to help. All people are interested in nowadays is what "They" get out of it...............
As Tim said on the AVO thread, You get out of something what you are prepared to put in.
Also, The cost of the Registrar's display is cheaper than the £20 I have to pay to enter concours but you don't hear me moaning
i dont use the club insurance mate, i can get it cheaper from elsewhere
and i dont use the discounts from numerous specailists,
dont take this as a dig at the club as its just my personal opinion and i dont think that being a member of the club benefits me personally in any way,
what i paid to join the club and then join a local group and then paid again for nat day was almost what i paid to insure my RS

again please dont take this as a go at the club i am just letting you know the reasons for me not rejoining
as for allowing other mk1 and mk2 escorts on nat day, i just thought that a lot of people have some very nice non rs escorts and this may be an extra draw for the crowds and increase profits for the club
