  • Arch rolling

Im looking into investing into a arch rolling machine .

How many people on here would be intrested in getting there arches rolled? if enough intrest i will buy and do a mobile service to those on this site with in a 50 mile radius of notts in with the charge of the rolling the arches ,any further will have to include some fuel money witch is only fair.

Keep to subject( Patch/Chesney/Andy C and all other Pi s takers) please.

Yep count me in, i presume these things bolt to the wheel flange on the axle, then lever off that against the arch lip?

So when i get the axle in i will have them done

Im a month or two away from that though.

If this does happen you can count me in, my fronts have been done but the rears really need doing with the 15's on. It depends where about in Notts you are though as I'm 56 miles from Nottingham

if it breaks it wasn't strong enough
rebuild it and try again !

              The ad said:-

"With a little heat it is possible to fold the inner lip flat without damaging the paint".

Further down the page a heat gun was advertised. Could a heat gun really provide enough heat ?

Yep it bolts on to the wheel studs and leavers on to to arch , a good heat gun is good enough to warm the paint up . will make the purchase hopefully this week and will do my own rear arches first . will take some pics of it in use and then all can see

MAD41T :im sure we can sort somethink out over the extra 6 miles ill have to travel

I've got an old Black and Decker hot air gun and trust me it will get things hot enough, I had to change three panes of glass when my ex wife was using it to get the paint off the window sills silly cow!
I use it for heating pulleys up etc at work so don't be fooled that just because there isn't a flame it doesn't get hot, I think it says something like 600 degrees on the side but I can't be a**ed to dig it out of the garage right now . I'm sure that's enough to soften steel and paint up enough, you'll have to be very careful not to blister the paint though.
