Had a nice chat to a chap mexicomark recommended.

His advice was invaluable and much appreciated.

I'm liking the look of Paul Gardner at present.

Have to agree...and what Alan doesn't know about BD's isn't worth knowing. Gareth at WWRS can't get them delivered quick enough as they're sold and out the door almost instantly. He's stuck one in OKK 380P now too as the Holbay/Warrior developed a problem recently...and he supplied the Sherwood BDG that's in Julian Reynolds car as well, and that's flying.

I've had first hand experience of Trevor Morris built engines (both BD and Pinto) in the past, and havn't got a bad word to say about them...and neither has anyone else I know. Trevor's been building Squires' (Rally and Comp Eqpt) BDG's for years....might be wrth giving Phil a bell for his opinion.

I'm fairly sure that the engine in the Viking Motorsport Escort that Gwyndaf is driving at present, is built by Tommy Field who's probably more well known for modern turbo'd engines...but now't wrong with his BD abilities by the looks of it either.

Roy Millington has been building Phil Collins engines for over a thousand years ...so he knows a thing or 2 about putting together a good BD.

A lot of it's down to personal preference at the end of the day...

Tommy Field must build good BD's if his engines are in Malcolm Wilson's, Gwyndaf Evans, Stig Blomqvist, Ari Vatenen and Richard Hill's.
                Just looking at this:
                sigpic
Proper rallying is done down the lanes!

Don't get a BDA then , get a proper engine like this .

sigpic 2.1 ATMO YB POWER .
Tick tock goes the clock and the clock don't lie .
12.4sec to 109mph With NO turbo , NO gay trailer , NO slicks , NO gas , NO race fuel and NO bits missing . Beat that !!!!

You could use one with a re-drilled Warrior cam cover on it .

Now your talking, i popped that mock up engine together for the show some time ago!

Millingtons would build you a BD but its expensive to do one properly, we stopped doing BD'S because i was so busy with the millington diamond engine.

But if you have the budget we could build one!

The latest diamond series two, similar to above can produce 341 bhp 252 lbs ft of tourque 2.5 litre depending on spec, NOT BULL**IT FIGURES!

But for tarmac rallying no more than 300bhp is needed, and forrest 240bhp

The millington engine is a purpose buit race engine, not a road engine modified, so it costs a lot to produce and develop, hence the price.

The engine is supplied with millingtons own flywheel, starter, alternator, stainless exhaust manifold, engine loom ecu, fuel pumps, regulater, air filter, and throttle cables etc. £23,000 + vat

But historic rallying is on the up! i can see me doing a few more BD's
