i do apologise, but a bit pizzed off today -

im looking to get a new Hilux soonish - only HL3 version, nowt too flash and demanding - got a call from the Toyota lot today saying top range Invincible is due by the weekend and do i wanna come and see it - "yeah sure" my reply - may go at weekend, or late next week - cool

then i asked

"if the HL3 could be changed to run 17" alloys instead of the 15" that it comes with ?"

"NO" ....... "they are not doing either a HL3 or Invincible with 17" alloys because of "stability problems"

"so youre telling me that a 15" wheel and big tyre is less dangerous than a 17" with a smaller profile ?"

"errrrr yes, i guess so"

"ok a few more points please, how long for delivery and what stock have you got at the moment please ?"

"ummm, there arent too many cars around at the moment - 5 we can pool from, all with leather"

"right, how long for delivery please ?"

"2-3 weeks"

"cool, that sounds ok, although i didnt want leather, but may now - if i wanted one built to my spec, ie black, with standard cloth trim and rear load liner, how long would that take ?"

" 5 MONTHS"

"5 MONTHS ? I bet you're not going to sell many of them then"

"factory order builds take 5 months sir, company policy"


so, as you can imagine im a bit oiked off - been saving a couple of bob for this, the first car im ever going to buy new and i want it right, surely not too much to ask as theyve been advertising the new Hilux for a month now

why cannot you buy anything now ? dad said no wonder the industry is in the shite shape it is

then to top it off, a 'sparky' came round to check a few things and had a look at the washing machine that was making a funny noise last week - basically ...........

THATS NOW FECKED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you are spending your hard earned then you get exactly what you want son, have you tried to find a low low mile one a year or two old? they are out there, we found our silver bullet with 2000 miles and saved us £8k on new, still a new car. yes it appears the car industry isn't helping itself. try something else, like a mitsi. must be tonnes of them. be aware of your road tax bracket as im sure they are in the £400 a year bracket. take your time and i hope you find what you want

washing machines are cheap you tight wad, i bet yours is 15 years old already

sorry to hear about the washing machine g, ours is making a right noise, think the bearings have gone, its only a couple of years old, to top it the iron has sprung a leak, well gutted

on the toyota thing what about a decent used one, they must be about

You have it easy son. The house we rent out has in the past month had the Immersion go, The Washing Machine go and today the Fence blew down Have a lie down and all won't seem so bad tomorrow.
