Laptop Wireless Question

I've got a Medion MD96290 which works perfectly.
Well it did, I blame Louie as I was on the phone to him when it blue screened today.

Anyway I switched it back on & all was well, except when I pressed the wireless button nothing happened.
So I thought do a system restore to an earlier time when I knew it was working.
Done that, desktop appears, press the button, but still no fcookin wireless connection.
So what I'm wondering, is there a way of switching wireless on via the computer, maybe through the control panel..??

Try pressing the function button second in from the botton left of the keyboard along with f1 of f2 at top.It may have a little internet symbol.laptops can all be a bit different but worth a try?
