  • could anyone help ?

    Now i know it's not an Escort but i have a problem on the Nova

    The battery light is on the dash all the time,and it wont go out,I have checked every single earth,I have had the alternater recondishioned,I have had a different battery on it aswell,and it still wont go out,I have had a multimeter on it aswell when it was running and that is reading ok.

    could anyone have any suggestions

      Check the plug at the back to see if it is tight son.

        does the vauxhall site not offer any help joe???

        its deffo ****ed son, the light stays on, happened on my beige car, broken adjuster bracket, new one on good as new

                  try earthing the alt to the block, presuming the block is earthed ok

                    find the earth that runs from the back of the alternator that runs along the front panel and disconect and earth it out on the body to see if it goes out.

                      It's normally a fautly diode inside the alternater that does this . Don't take the bulb out the dash cos the battery won't charge .
