MK2 1600 Sport Prices help

Am thinking about buying a sport its a 79 T been restored to close on original
what sort of money is considered about right ? the guy reckons 8k + ive looked at the car at the avo show yesterday,you dont see a lot of sports maybe theyve all been reinvented anyone else see it or what you reckon on the price,
Am looking to buy a car if anyone knows to anything rs/mex

Looked a very very nice car, asking price was £8,750.... just need the flocked dash un-flocking

I looked at it, thought it was very nice and clean but a little expensive. Some very good cars on ebay at mo that haven't been selling at that sort of price and a lot less.

surley worth less than that? more 6-7 i would have thought? how much is a mint mk2 mex or rs2000 worth ?

Saw the car at AVO yesterday. A few bits need sorting and both VIN plates were missing

A rare car but at that sort of money I'd want it 100% right

i heard from a good source he'd accept £12k ish..........

Yes it was the one on ebay it didnt meet reserve,the white rs2 mk1 was 12k the green one was 18-20k,i noticed the vin tags he said he had them but mislayed them,Its proving difficult to buy an escort is it that people are not selling them or do they change ownership amongst like minded ?

Have to agree with you on that.

I guess it hasn't got a sun roof which makes it alot more desirable but it's hardly in one of the more desirable colours. Sorry to all owners off that colour

The white/blue one was very nice just a shame about the sunroof whats the thought on the price of that ?

My advise would be to decide exactly what model you want, with what spec. Post on this site in wanted. Contact the registra for that type of vehicle and tell them what your looking for and what budget you have. And most importantly don't buy something out of desperation and end up with a dog ! Been there done that and worn the 'T' shirt pmsl.
