Just looks like a few ideas were up in the air before the spec eventually settled down.

Firstly, I would just like to thank all of your for the nice comments about my car - it is very humbling! I thought I'd just tell you a bit more about the car.......
The car was purchased from new by the previous owner, Mr Geoffrey Miles Hudson from Halifax. He placed the order for the car on 9 March 1976 with Tate Cars Limited on Balm Road, New Hunslet, Leeds, and took delivery of the RS2000 on 10 April 1976. The chassis number shows that the car was built in March 1976. The full price of the car was £2,694.89. The car was registered with the private number “GMH 2”. Mr Hudson owned the car until 1989 when it was acquired by Polar Motor Company in York. Polar Motors had acquired the car as a show car for their showroom. Polar’s did not register the car in their name.
I was told about the car in 1995 by one of the RSOC members from the York area and that the car was for sale. I contacted the salesman and went to see the car in July 1995. The car was exactly as it is now – an absolute mint, original, unspoilt car. I had to have it for my collection! I agreed a price and went to collect the car a week later. I drove it back to Leicester.
Since I purchased the car it has been garaged and not used at all. I have had no works carried out to the car other than just before bringing it out for the first time to the AVO National Day at Stanford Hall on 21 June 2009. The car needed a new exhaust system; radiator re-cored; brakes sorting out; service; and MOT; before I could bring it out.
I have the full documented history for the car including the original bill of sale. I made contact with the original owner when I first bought the car and he still lived at the same address in Halifax.
Polar’s replaced the wheels with brand new wheels and they also replaced the rocker and timing belt covers with black Ford ones available at that time. The original covers were blue. The original wheels and the rocker and timing belt covers came with the car so I have them.
The car does not have any RS2000 stickers on the rear quarters nor on the bootlid. I do not know why this is – and the car does appear to have any paintwork done to it.
Interestingly, the car has a sticker in the boot “MEXICO BRENDA”.
I have owned the car for 14 years.RUD1T

Any plans for any sort of restoration for it Hemant?

Great story there Hemant.... I wonder whether the original purchaser asked for the car to be supplied without the side and boot badges?....that might be the reason, or even took them off once bought.
Thanks for bringing it to AVO day, it was a delight to look around it and meet you.

Hemant, if I had of known you were bringing it out again then I would have made the effort.
The car as I remember was 'upstairs' in Polar and when I was approached by them (Known for the current RSi), you were the best person I could think of.
Look forward to seeing you and the car in the near future.
Regards,
Stuart.
