  • Strange Pc problem ???

    Heres a good one for you PC experts, Just had a new video card fitted to my old Desk top that runs XP. All well and now works with Sims 3 so my oldest is well happy at last
    Any way comes to Shut down as normal and usual Windows is shutting down screen appears and switches off as it should, Takes a step away and it starts back up again So I think no problem maybe its just doing a update or something so I try to shut down and guess what same again it starts back up Had a word with a mate whos into Computers a bit and said he aint come across this one before any ideas would be well appreciated

            do you have turn on by usb enabled in the Bios? as it will shut down but if you touch the keyboard or mouse it will start again

              I was thinking BIOS setting. When the new card has been fitted, the settings me had not be adjusted correctly or gone to "default" mode.

                I was thinking BIOS problem. Is it possible when the new card has been fitted/installed that it has caused a conflict and the BIOS settings have returned to default.

                  Thanks for replys lads Im a bit thick with these things .But Ive just been into the Bios setting ( went in using the f2 button on the packard bell page) and I cant find anything linked to USB enabled in there Brian ?Ive looked thru all the settings inc power settings and Bios settings but cant find any USB related.Am I looking in the wrong place
