Taking my Dad's (company) car to Germany next weekend and tyres are around 3 - 4 mm so lease company won't change them yet - question is - are they legal in Germany on a british car given i think our limit is 1.6mm but theirs is 3mm?

They are only half worn! New tyres only have 8mm from new ,so 3 or 4 mm is half gone ,half left.Even at 3mm they are still half worn ,because the legal limit is 1.6 mm.English car english laws ,we dont swap left hand drive headlghts for right hand drive headlights to take our car abroad.I dont and I take my cars over the water 3 times a year

They have definatley got to be 3mm minimum to comply with german law
on any vehicle -we always stress this to customers who we know are
taking their cars abroad
