Anti tramp bars are basically a very basic 4 link system

they are attached to the top of the axle casing and the body/chassis rails and under hard acceleration and braking they stop the axle tramping or twisting forward so making the differential casing move towards the ground, this also causes the leaf springs to bend not up and down but end to end via the middle where they are attached to the axle casing

god I just read that and it sounds crap but hope you know what I mean ?

a 4 link kit does the same thing but way more efficiently the bars are attached to the top and the bottom of the axle casing and into those link boxes pictured which are built into the floor horizontally to the axle,

 this picture is on yellowperil.co.uk

you can see the 2 black bars running behind the leaf springs holding the axle from forward and rearward rotation

these are the 4 link boxes in a car

Note once a 4 link kit has been fittind the base of a back seat cannot anymore, only the std anti tramp bars on an RS will allow
