Yes - in fact most european built cars were but it is a lightweight axle and is most definitely not the Atlas Axle in narrow form.

Thats the Koln axle, a Salisbury type axle ie internal's load from the rear, the Atlas is also a Salisbury type axle, and as the Koln was late coming online, some early 75's did leave the Factory with Atlas type axle fitted.

And yet, allthough the rule books say 'the axle must be that of a type externally identifiable as that which was originally fitted' .. they still wont allow an Atlas (ie Salisbury type) to be used on standard (gp1) cars in racing/rallying.

I had works manuals listing the axle as fitted to standard 1300/1600 cars from 75 onwards and they still wanted me to use the English (timken type) axle so i said i'll use the Timken type Ford 9" .. ... but no.. Cranbrook House have selective vision ..

I dont follow the rules of rallying, seems to be too many fuddy duddies trying to kill off inventors and drivers with stupid rules.. but in racing, most classes stating standard production means you have to use the english

In the periode Rallye Sport catalogue the Atlas axle is listed as the "New Narrow Atlas Axle". Severeal parts numbers are listed related to the ratios.

BTW, most of the standard 1100/1300 norwegian 1969 mk I Escorts were actually factory fitted with the narrow Atlas axle(not the Koln/Cologne), probably due to homologation rules.
