Bonnet release cable

How much of a b*stard is it when the cable snaps. spent about 2 hours trying to open the bonnet yesterday, felt like giving the car a good shoeing.

Just bought a new one this morning!

I have a problem with mine it wont stay shut at the mo, as the cable is either too tight or slack ooer

bin the cable and catch, and fit a set of bonnet pins..........thats what i did on my mk1 mex years ago when the cable snapped, before the pins were fitted, i had to poke a round file through the grill, line it up with the catch, and give it a whack.....not easy in the dark....
