the smoke was blowing away from the camp site so stop winging and in any case it was out before 1200 and your tent was no where near the fire

Andyc... I didnt read anywhere that bonfires were allowed???

Bbq's were ok as long as they were not on the grass. Did you bring your own firepit? or did you just burn your crap on someone elses garden???

        out of order...

That is just plain lazy and disrespectful....

I am normally so pleased with peoples attitude to rubbish when we clean up after AVO day...there is generally only a few loose items and all the rest is bagged in piles by people.

Sorry to see this...there is no need.

Andy it wasnt a fire made by your lot as you were quite away from where i was camped , this was a fire at the top of the campsite . Like I said flames about 6/7ft high and smoke everywhere

Wife and i agree with all the posts for this thread. I wouldn't expect this kind of behaviour from five year olds, never mind the inconsiderate halfwits not a million miles away from where we camped.

My tent was to the left of this area.

Its not hard to clear your own mess (as i did).

Camping is like having a dog if you dont want to clean up after dont have one.

People in this area were carrying on like 5 year olds on the Friday shouting Gaylord all night! I was not amused to say the least.

I agree name & shame, people know who they were!

After 2 sleeps we can see that some landowners would find this unacceptable. However, we know that Steve, Bob and the team do such a good job tidying up that this is a situation between the organisers and those camping. In the camping rules Steve had said "no open fires" AT OUR REQUEST. This was ignored. WHY? Unfortunately a fruit tree has suffered damage due to the flames. This would lead some landowners to deny access to campers in the future. As petrolheads ourselves, we understand some of the problems but will insist on stricter controls next year.

On the plus side- considering the wet week prior to the event most people drove sensibly on the grass areas and caused a minimum amount of damage. We thank those of you that supported our bar, food and accommodation and hope to see you all soon.

It sounds like the culprits are known to the organisers or they at least have a good idea who was camped in that area.

As they seem unable to stick to the rules of the campsite & have no respect for Miles & his families property.
They should not be allowed to camp at Heaves next year & must find alternative accomodation.
That is if Steve even wants to let them take part in future tours.
                              Mark....

Thank you Miles for being so understanding. It is such a shame that a minority may have spoiled it for the majority.

As usual the food, drink and hospitality you showed us and your eagerness to help was a welcome addition to the weekend.

Looking forward to next year already
                                Cheers
