      The plot thickens

Am just putting a vinyl roof onto Jaffa, and have two original Ford ones bought across the counter a long time ago.

Both have full length "A" pillars, but on one of them, the "A" Pillar has been grafted on very professionally at the factory !!!!

I believe your right. there's a thread here somewere about it I think. I remember clearly reading it,that if the front section comes to the end of the pillar its factory fitted one, if it came to the top of the pillar it was fitted afterwards by the dealer.

Not necessarily - I had mine chopped back to just below the tops of the pillars, when the lower sections were repaired! This was still preferable than fitting one from EKT or similar; though the factory BVR I notice is now starting to get very brittle 31 years on...

Here's my old Java green RS2000 custom in the 1980's . It had an original Ford factory vinyl roof that went right down the front pillars if that helps .

Grafted on at the top is exactly how my factory fitted one is!
