Personally I would think about what I want most and in your case, I dont think its that lovely RS 2000.

Whatever classic car you long for, they are only toys for fun and frustration.

The car aint as comfy as the crib, nor as good lookin as the wife and kids m8.

Im sure you will find another mex in future when the time is right.

Hope things get better soon fella

So i have a few ideas, sell it and get what i want done and buy something cheaper - wont be a mk1, possibly another 16i (which is a big favourite of mine) or keep it in the garage for a year or so and not be able to spend any money on it or the house and possible see its value go down
            Any contstructive ideas welcomed

its a tough call to be honest if times wre really bad the rs would have
to go if i had tried everything else ,but the value of these cars dosent
seem to be dropping at the moment to sell it now would make it harder
to replace in the future .

Since I sold mine I am not missing Escorts one bit ..........

Think you deffo need to have something in the garage to call your own and have as an hobby but its having the balance between money tied up behind closed doors and keeping family life in perspective.

Did I mention that there will be a very nice freshly built MK1 bubble arched shell for sale early next year

How about a TR son ..........

If you can keep the RS2 and just lock it away do that, but at the end of the day it is only a car.

List of items to give up or do
                        1 fags
                        2 beer
3 take aways ( or only have every couple of months as a treat)
4 don't buy flowers for the wife
                        5 stop the wife shopping
6 sell the wife's shoe collection
7 sell the wife's handbag collection
8 sell your spares (if any)
9 don't make car trips to local shops, walk
10 if needs must sell the RS

divorce the mrs put a stop to the nagging - short term it would be worse, but just think of the benefits longterm

Your wife probably does not want you to part with your pride and joy. Can you not still improve the house, but cut down the costs a bit! Because of the recession there is more bargaining going on and great deals to be had.............go and see what you can find and keep your car.
