    In other words a temporary fuel cap that just pushes into the filler neck is a failure, but a bayonet fitting cap (as per a standard Mk2 cap) is fine.

    I remember this from my days doing MOT's (a few years ago now mind you)

    The cap on the eBay link shown above is no good for a saloon, it's for the van and Estate - I bought one for my Van and it's different to the saloon type.
    I concur, as there are vehicles today without a locking petrol cap

          bugger! just missed out on one on asda, my bid was for £5, but i was at work when it finnished, and it sold for £5.01p gutted...........

                i got one, i got one!!! i paid through the nose for it though...........£2! from a scrappy on hayling island, all the chrome was scratched, so i went at it with a tycro wheel, and now it has a nice brushed metal finish....tidy!

                      yes howards! not been there for a while myself, the have moved from the last site, about 50 yards to the other side of the track.......unbelievable what you can find....
