i've spent the last 15 years living in england, i've had to adapt my accent to suit the english way of life, i have to read all the road signs which are only written in english, i have to pay the toll on the severn bridge when i leave england, i have to use money instead of trading in sheep, and i've just got used to electricity and running water, so i've adapted to life in england so why can't everyone else, i don't push my cave dwelling sheep shagging druid loving ways down anyones throat either, i just get on with it and fit in, i only take the pith when you loose the rugby

The Aussies are hardly known for their tact and diplomacy, and it didn't look particularly "Christian" what they did to those refugees stranded off the OZ coast a couple of years back.
There's nowt wrong with expecting immigrants to adapt to the culture and learn the language of the country they're in, but spouting such nationalistic rubbish (so-called patriotic) in his position is lowering himself to the Arab leader level (i.e. down with the West)
It's also calling open season on ethnic minorities, (paki-bashing) etc etc. Do you seriously want a return to the days of the Brixton riots etc.
It might be better if the British govt. got off the fence and set standards for immigrants wanting to enter the UK and not keep ducking the issue but this sort of rhetoric is by no means the answer.

I nearly wanted to get involved in this post, except I just went out and bashed a paki, stabbed a towel head and kept my "tact" intact, merely by going about the things I do and have done since I was born here, instead of conforming to a refugees requests that I turn the country into what he wanted to get away from.
