1/. 205 block. Sourced.
2/. Glass. Local firm tell me pretty much anything is possible - bevelling edges, cutting holes, and etching. The only issue is the holes can't be too close together. If it was an issue I could use bores 1 and 4 only for the cutouts. Glass would be toughened and the thickness is at my discretion. Thicker = pricier.
3/. Stand and castors - No decision here so far.
Glazier asked me to submit a design to them. Sizes, ovality, cutouts, etching. Any place online I could use to work on the design?
Get an old head gasket and use that as a template for the glass cutting .
sigpic 2.1 ATMO YB POWER .
Tick tock goes the clock and the clock don't lie .
12.4sec to 109mph With NO turbo , NO gay trailer , NO slicks , NO gas , NO race fuel and NO bits missing . Beat that !!!!
It turns out I know someone working in the glaziers so the cost of the glass top has just reduced a bit I've decided against etching btw. That'd only partially hide what I'm trying to show.
Nothing to do with the fact the Glaziers would only etch
"I must be a nutter"
This must be one of the most mental projects ever to take place.
Why not just replace the windscreen of the RS with a TV and park that in your living room. LOL.
Good luck, I can't wait to see the finished project!
It's a private project (subject to some discussion here). I'll not look for accolades, nor prizes, nor public adulation. I do have a small pile of dirty kex in the linen bin, but that's about as close to Ms. Emin's art as I'll get lol
p.s. I am the Spartacus of pinto engine based coffee table makers. I will not be deterred by a good slagging
