  • baby seats in your escort!!!

there seems to be a number of us that have had children over the last year or 2, myself included.
and i was wondering if anyone had a good way of mounting a baby seat in the car, i heard a while back that fiesta rear belts could be fitted, is this true???

i know a few members use booster seats to drive, gaz w, martin c etc, but thats slightly different!!!

    hi yea

I put a set in my mk2 and they are a great job. Holds both seats in very securely and took about 2 hours from start to finish to fit. The hardest part was turning the adjuster on the side of the belt to release the seat belt itself as the r/h one is hard to reach once fitted.

Here's a set on e-bay at the right money. Just check that they are the inertia ones as its hard to see the winder on them. if your stuck pm me and I'll give you the number of a mate who breaks escorts and he has another set. price there is £40.

Its funny that you started this thread mate as I've just got hold of a set of rear mk2 fiesta belts which I believe will fit the rear of an escort, so
will be having a go at fitting these this week............. Not that the Missus wants my 9 week old daughter in the rear of an old escort

I did mine with Fiesta belts - I got a full set (including the fronts which I didn't need) from ebay for a tenner.

thats a good point tim, but we use 30+ belts for ourselves everytime we get in the car...

is there an alternative out there??

Yes, I asked on the AVO site some time ago (a few years back) - someone posted up a link to a site that makes new inertia reel belts that retro-fit into a Mk 1 (or Mk II) - but can I find the link or site

Securon manufacture and provide information about a Seat Belt, Seat Belts, Harnesses and Safety Restraints.

We do the belts at GSF for the front and the rear. Have some new 4 point ones for mine when I get round to fitting them. They are Securon
