  • Engine Refurber

Does anyone know of a company that will take my engine, strip it, convert it to unleaded, rebuild it and shine it up to concours condition (paint block, powder coat sump, shine up 44s) ready for me to slot back into the car ?

      AVA in glasgow.

HT racing will have a pants down and insert a large mellon untill you pay more that the cars worth for it

I hope thats me ? - lol lol lol

a cost to freshen up a Pinto would be labour £225

        PLUS !!

Cost of all bits (shells, pistons, gaskets, cam, ARP bolts etc etc etc)
        Unleaded seats
Any machining ie bores crank etc

To concours an engine can be the dearest part of any rebuild.

All I did was clean, polish, paint and powder coat what I had instead of buying loads of chrome and alloy etc

        Beware - a £500 budget soon becomes a £2000 job

Will give AVA a call first see what they can offer ideally looking to spend around 1k tops, the airbox , cam belt cover etc are already being done at the bodyshop with the shell so it is just the bare engine in this budget.

lol - thats what I have priced up for - not for prettyfying your bitz !! (oooeeerrr misses)

You should get a decent job done for £1k but do the time consuming "silly" jobs yourself and the finished article will be so much better

Fraz, You tried Agra in Dundee. I had some bits of machining done by them and it was first class (and that's from an engineer). Your better painting the block, pulleys ect yourself and get someone to vapour blast all the alloy parts
