Spot on. It was, for me, the BIG surprise in all of the speeches yesterday as Iīm sure itīs not Obamaīs philosophy. I guess the coloured americans have also got some sort of strong lobby just like the gun lobby etc.

I was also VERY disconcerted to see that the crowd at least appeared to be 90% coloured and was waiting the whole time for the crack of a rifle shot. Scary.

His speech was extremely moving.

I dunno about that, I think it is very symbolic and I'm sure that the media will get used to it but you shouldn't forget how unthinkable this was only 40 years ago, and while there's coloured MPs in the house of commons I don't see any one of them advancing to prime minister any time soon.

Times do change, but ask any racial minority if they do feel dicriminated against in any country and if someone from their community will make it to most powerful post in the land, I'd be surprised to hear many of them say they think "one of their own" would make it.
