These bloody things! Can anyone help? I cannot open up any of my desktop icons tried everything after i double click the egg timer appears for a few seconds then dissapears then nothing happens the internet connection is fine doing my bloody head in thanks davie

I had that and it was a virus in the Windows software . I took my hardrive unit down to the local computer shop and they cleaned the virus out and re-booted it for £40 which was handy as i'm useless with compooooooters !!!!!!

if i have a problem i restore the computre to an earlier date or reboot in safemode

had a scare with mine over christmas when i refresh the screen would freeze and the only solution was to close it down.



just renewed my McAfee subscription for a couple of years, it had expired for a few days

avast is good for an antivirus, so is avg, these both now have limited anti-spyware prevention.

if you click on dodgy sites, a dedicated anti-spyware package would also be useful

Topaz thanks very much for that mate first i restored my pc to an earlier date but that never worked i then put it back that seemed to do the trick downloaded your software ran the scan which picked up 1 or 2 things & all seems to be ok just now mate cheers as i hate it when things dont work it annoys me
