last night was a on how they do the road book for the event - looks harder than the African event

watched some route recce stuff on eurosport, looks tough this one,

217 bikes this year wonder how many will make it, first stage on sat 230 mile

Oi Kermit, last years event was cancelled just before the off because of a terrorist threat - north africa deemed too dangerous at the moment, so they looked else where for this year and came up with Argentina and Chile - looks good so far, even if a little dusty

think the 'Dakar' is used more as a brand name now anyway

vw got 1st and 2nd, carlos was unlucky, crashed out, but he did not smash the rear screen this time
