was involved in a minor off today
in-between jobs in deepest darkest dorset, on a twisty wet B road went around a looping left hander to be met by a stationary renault 'transit' sized van parked up, in the road, no attempt to get on the verge, no hazards, nothing - Martin hit the brakes and that was it - armfuls of lock both ways to get it back from ploughing into the on coming artic and 7.5 tonner but all this was to no avail when our VW came back towards our side of the road and then decided to demolish 15ft of garden fence next to the derelict house where this 'eff'in count' had parked !!!!
we ended up 2ft away from his passenger rear end
Mart and me bailed out thinking the same would happen to the following peeps - the guy got out his van and looked somewhat amazed when i said " what the feck you parked there for - look what youve caused - did you not hear us crash" - 'No' was his answer as he walked away from us to the house to :knob:
Mart had a go to get the thing off all the crumpled fence and verge but couldnt, so it was down to Ari Grummenen to give it some beans on full lock and out it came
anyway - alls well now, but you dont realise just how easily these things happen
our vans only got two dents in the bonnet strangely enough - the rest is fine - those Transporters have a kind of heavy duty sump/engine protector which i think saved any underneath from any damage
was a bit of a miss though
