I see in RN that 3 clubs have been axed from the RSOC

All the groups know the rules so if they can't be arsed to attend the AGM every other year then IMO they should get all that is coming to them...

Still a shock that 3 groups have been axed, 2 of them big groups too, just goes to show what happens if a few keen members of the group committee leave a group.

I understand this was put to the vote at the AGM, can anyone shed any more light on what happened ? Is the ban for life or temporary ? Will the main club reap the local groups funds back ?

I was one of the 38 groups who made a unanimous vote to deregister them!

There is a misconception that it is AGM attendance, it is for LGM attendance.

The groups in question had letters sent to their office bearers 1 month before the event to remind them.

its not a dig, its a fact - no one posts on the dorset rsoc forum anymore - maybe some peeps want to see whats going on in the regions without having to look up to every regional forum - just that someone the other day (new rs owner) wanted to have a look at the site and didnt know what to look for on the rsoc cos there wasnt anything there

hi there seeing as i am the new secretary of the essex rsoc elected august 2008 just a note that we are appealing to the national rsoc as the previous commitee and chair persons didn't attend the meetings.we have a brand new commitee and hold regular meetings and are planning good events throughout 2009 keep an eye out and stop downmouthing what you don't know.

memberships were carried over from the previous commitee and last year all members had current cards these cards will be updated in march 2009 .we accomdate nearly 50 cars on our stands so our club will continue to grow now a regular and positive comittee are present. big paul secretary
