Bought an RS1600 for £850 many years ago with 3 months Tax & MOT.
EAK the reg started. It was very rough around the edges. Ran it until the tax ran out.
Then sold the engine for £800 yes bda
Contours for £150 & The rolling shell & ID went for £350

No one really wanted Escorts back then.

Let my first RS2000 custom go for £500 quid back in 1996, as the tax had ran out and my mum gave me hell for it being in the drive... was a little rough round the arches but had cracking interior in it, oh, and a Brand Spanking NEW 4 spoke and CORRECT mk 2 boss....
I even gave the guy a perfect 3.54 diff with it too

Just thought I'd mention that I got a garage the week after

I sold a big wing RS1600 rolling shell , which was rust free and badged for some unknown reason as a RS2000 to a friend of mine for 500 pounds back in 1991 , it didn,t posses the AVO plate but Andrew joined the AVO Owners club and gave the vin number , he called me here in california about 6 months after I sold him the car to tell me I had sold him a genuine RS1600 roller ( lucky b******d) I had at this time around 6 AVO Mexicos in various states of restoration and had to find homes as I had commited to move here
