  • Trip of a life time

Well I have just got back from a trip of a life time, my dear wife Fiona booked a surprised trip for my 40th brithday to see the Polarbears in Churchill Canada.
Even though my birthday is not until Feb the polar-bears are only in Churchill for two months each year while they wait for the sea ice to form in October & November.

Here is a few pics of my trip, I took over 500 pics

It took us 2 full days to get to Churchill and it still has no mobile phone coverage as its that far north.

Nice little plane that took us to Churchill

On day 2 we went out in the Trundry Buggies and you get up very close to the bears.

You have to look hard to find these, Artic-hares.

This is what the weather was like for us to take off in to come home, pic taken on way to the airport.

If you ever get the chance to go, all I will say is do it.
I would just like to say a big thank you to my wife Fiona for this trip

              Nice one.

Churcill is quite a busy port for grain exports - but there is always a race at the end of the season to get the ships loaded out before the sea freezes over.
