Having an issue with ebay, some guy in teeside advertising a 1600xflow from an escort Mk2 advetising on ebay, I asked the guy for a buy it now and would he deliver to my contact in the North East, agreed a price so I did a paypal transaction , he mailed me some pictures of a 1600E steering wheel and rear lights for my Mk2 Cortina project , again agreed a price for the whole lot to be delivered and paypal ,ed the money. 2 weeks later and after several promises to deliver nothing, not replying to email or voice mail. I check out the ebay user name he emails with which is different to the one he currently uses, lots of negative feedback for not completing deals or responding to emails or phone calls. So I now find myself at the mercy of a paypal dispute, any one else had any joy with paypal settling or doing a payment reversal?

    Hi Bob,

Yes i reported a dispute through Ebay via Paypal as the item came damaged, the guy said he would send replacement part but never did. I reported it and they sent a warning to the seller, and after a while to my surprise the money was credited to my card and i still had the goods, but not the replacement part!
    Hope this helps
    Daz

        Hi there.
If the seller cannot prove he delivered the goods by means of a signature you will get your money back. Are the numbers of tossers increasing or are we just having a bad run?

Make sure you follow the procedure and file the complaint with eBay and Paypal. If Paypal send you an e-mai lrequesting any information try to reply to it as quickly as possible (ideally within 48 hours).

As Andy has said you are cover upto £500 so if he cannot prove delivery then you will get your money back
                Cheers

Just an update on my ebay situation. I posted a dispute on paypal which put his account on hold, he finally delivered my parts to my friends factory in Washington and they are now in a container and on their way to me . I guess I was lucky this time

Ebay and paypal are chancers only bid/pay what you can comfortably write off. You have more chance of going to the moon than getting a satisfactory outcome.
If you are going to buy an item buy it face to face. I just wish people would wise up and get real.
