    OK gents....

I'm not really interested..or well up on Mobile Phone technology etc...

But..the wife has offered me her "old" Nokia N76 Orange handset (she's upgraded). But apparently, I have to get it "unlocked" from the Orange network, if I want to use my Tesco pay as you go SIM in it.

However..Orange won't unlock it for 3 months apparently...

Anybody know much about this?? Am I right in thinking these things can be unlocked by geezers with the right know-how??

    All advice gratefully received!

    Si

any of the back street mobile shops should do it but may not have the soft wear yet if its a new model phone

Orange charge £20 to unlock the phone and as stated will not do it for 3 months.

The Nokia N76 uses the latest BB5 Software and if not done correctly can lock the phone out totally.

The best way to get this phone unlocked is by a local phone unlocker who has the software and will plug your phone into his laptop to modify the Control Chip on the circuit board.

These people are the best in the industry for unlocking anything including iPhones.

          Cheers
