i done this with grum in 95 and 96 was good.then again in 2004 ,got loads of attention in the mk1 .

Maybe . Lot goin on may/june, just gotta work out if holiday/expense and all other interests permit .

Would want to go from Portsmouth though. Less driving the other side and nicer roads

Portsmouth crossing is mega dear looking around 20-300 per car plus fuel surcharge per person

Depends wher you are in the UK but from Milton Keynes there and back around 1200 mile

it would be nice to do it from portsmouth but as lucan says its a dear do, poole cherbourg gets us quiet close and isnt as expensive, you pay per car not person.

Le Mans is the weekend of 13th & 14th June 2009 so I've been told and as for mileage in 2007 i did 910 miles for a round trip from the London area

we normally tunnel it, then a good drive at the other side??

Tunnel was ok when we used it in 2006 but its just a bit more relaxed on the ferry, you can sit down and have a nice meal.
When you take into account all the hanging around to get onto the tunnel trains it worked out the same amount of time had lapsed when we got onto French soil
