Just thought I'd post a quick "look at me" note.
I recently bought a fairly nice RS2000 from Norway and imported it to the USA (I'm Australian and have owned many European Fords). It is an early 76 LHD. 110,000km with all service records and other than a bodgie strut top fix in very nice original condition. Other than a missing center console, the interior is perfect.
I also own a very, very nice Mk 1 Escort Twin Cam http://www.drizzle.com/~glenn/twink/ and a Mk II Cortina GT historic rally car. http://www.pacificforestrally.com/ph...tart_Car26.jpg
I just put a new set of rear Billies on the RS (interestingly the eyes in the bottom of the dampers were 1/2" but the bolts on the plates were 13mm.....), did valve clearances, oil change, air filter, tune up, new exhaust (Bosal system off ebay) and cleaned up exhaust manifold.
On the to do list is new front brake pads (Mintex M1144) and front wheel bearings. (update: done)
My plan is to keep the car basically bog standard - you don't see a lot of early LHD cars and the interior is pretty mint.
I know of a guy who has an X-Pak'd track car but it is in pieces, other than that I don't know of any other Mk II RS2000's in the US.
CheeRS,
Glenn
