YUKSPEED Escort - PORSCHE EATER !!!

Went to Croft on a Porsche track day on thursday, drove 4 porsches and was passenger in another 3.

Car of the day was definately this Honda Powered MK1 Escort. Yuk handed the keys over to the host of the trackday for a few laps I managed to get in as passenger for a couple.

I Video`d one lap - most of the video is 100mph plus

New build Mk1, imported from Portugal. converted to RHD.( Building to none historic spec.)Painted in Alan Mann colours. 5 linked, oval turrets, long 4 link boxes,seam welded,shaped tank,big tunnels,muti-point SD cage, etc.
11/10 Box back from rebuild at Quaife, mapping of ecu this week.
18/10 Went to Boggys( http://www.boggbros.co.uk/) for mapping, Nick Dixon and his partner Jim(http://www.mndmotorsport.com/) doing mapping, Dad Dave Bogg running up on rollers, needed jets setting a couple of times to get mixture right, Nick & Jim pushing a few buttons on laptop, setting timing etc.they brought the "v" tech down to come in at 3800 revs then a couple of runs and we got 240bhp at around 8250 revs, set rev limit to 9500 revs.
Mission accomplished.

Excellent video,I`ve known Yuk for years he`s a smashing bloke,a little eccentric at times but hell of a rally driver,one of the local characters.He will be rallying the car at the Kallkwik rally in November,i am looking forward to seeing it in the flesh going round Oliver`s Mount at full throttle.Regards Gixer1000.

known Yuk for 30+ years and never changed just got greyer.

Ask him about the mig wire incident when he was building the Mk1 and I was helping him one afternoon.
