I am just in the process of shopping round for the car insurance,
                my renewal was £490.00
with playing them off against one another i am now down to £411 and thats after speaking to 3 companies, so i will try a few more and see what i can get it for

can you not get one of these muilti car jobbies to help build a bit of NCB for the young lad, just make sure you protect what NCB you have to be on the safe side.

                    just remembered
my mate has just insured his lads car in his name on a new policy and put him on as a named driver
that way if he crashes it doesnt affect his everyday policy

Just be careful when doing that as if they can prove the lad is the main driver the insurance is invalid and they might cancel both insurance policy's.
I have known of this to happen

My son uses Bell ,hes now 20 ,but saved him £200 last year just by adding me and the wife as named drivers. Hes also doing 10 months insurance at a time to get a 1 years no claims, a bell product.
His 1st insurance at 17 was in my name with him as named driver and was nearly £1400 on a £200 fiesta
