  • My Engine Woes

After saturdays minor hitch, the car has gone back to the engine builder. Having listened to it he seems to think that it has smashed a piston
so hopefully tomorrow he will get the head off to fully investegate it. i will let you know when he gets back to me

called in to see the guy and he was just trying to get the engine out, with a lot of struggling as the flywheel was sticking out too far so wouldn't clear the box properly
seems to think that the crank has snapped
so where can i get one from ?

yes the head was off it and it was jacked under the x-member ready to lower. when i put the engine in it was a right B*****D due to the 5-speed box

it takes a lot to break a crank , you need to lower the cross member by about 4-5 inches.
good luck hope its only minor.

agreed, cant see it snapping the crank myself. and it was still kind of running a bit when you pulled in to the layby. and we had only been cruising along for the last hour or so.
builder not trying to cover his ass is he by getting you to shell out for a new crank, due to him not putting it together properly ?
                      get pics lee.
