  • RS2000 for a VR6?

What's my chances of getting an RS2000 custom for my Corrado VR6 which is worth in the region of £4000?

It's a really nice car with loads of power etc. Well refined, excellent reviews including top gear. In my opinion it's got the same status as the RS2 has but in a different generation of cars.

I'm 34 and had MK2 escorts and nothing but from being 19-25 and then decided I needed to get a more civilised motor because of the job I did. I was thinking more about what other people thought of my car.

Anyway these days I know that I love the 70's era style of car so desperatley want to get an RS2. Who gives a shit about what other people think???

You know what it's like when you have to sell a car to get the car you want? Feels like you'll never achieve it !

I think you are unlikely to get anyone to swap persay

you would be better off selling the VR6, and then buy one, as in general people who own or have a RS are not going to get rid for a VW ? even though I like the VR6 I would swap for one. you should be aboe to get a buyer for yours relatively easily as they are now getting rarer and more sort after if they are in good condition with a good service record

Shame it's not a G60. VERY Nice car. VR6 is a great car as well. Try selling it via this website www.golfgti.co.uk Good luck in finding an RS.

Worth an attempt though you never know who's looking.

Can't believe the price of these cars now! Cars I would have bought for £200 back in '94 are selling for £900.

Can't leave it much longer to get an RS2 otherwise will never be able to afford one at this rate.

What sort of appreciation do you get these days when driving down the road in these 70's motors?

Used to be quite a few in Swindon when I sold my last one but they have all rotted like pears these days.

I have the chance of a red RS2000 that is currently being restored and will be ready in 2 months so will probably go for that.

Thought as much, I haven't seen one around for nearly 2 years on the road.

I miss owning a MK2 big time. I have a nice sort of modern car, powerful etc but crave to get into a retro escort again, I have just rebuilt my mates MK1 and another friend of mine has still got his harrier. Me the biggest fan out of the 3 of us has nothing.

Need to sell the VR6 so I can have an RS2, so much hassle with selling then searching for the right car....

Can't wait to have no ECU or electric windows or an injection system, just pure engineering that I can fettle at the weekends.
