Rs2000 or Mexico

Hello all,i know this thread may cause a division between you all,but it is regards to whether RS2000`s or Mexico`s are more popular.When I first became interested in Rs`s my first one was an Rs2000 Mk1,my first show that i ever went to was at Chatsworth House it was at the time RS1600i`s and series one RS turbo`s had been released,I have pictures of lines and lines of Mk2 Rs2000`s parked up,but there was very few Mexico`s,they always seemed to be the poor relation to the RS2000.Even though there was less of them about their value was always considerable less than the RS2,but in my opinion they looked the better of the two cars,i think it must have been to do with the rallying connection the flat fronts seemed to be the car of choice over the droop-snoot with the rally fraternity.In stark contrast the following year when we went back to Chatsworth House,the car park and grassed area was full of 1600i`s and RS Turbo`s.Regards Gixer1000.

had a 2000, now own a mex. Tough one that but i think the droop snoot just edges it.

how rare are good rs1600i's r s1 turbo's now....they have increased in value alot in recent years....i own a mex & would say a mex, but here in ireland at any of the shows the rs2000 mk2 seems to be more popular....

Buy both models then you can choose which one to take out for a blast, job sorted.

I think the Mexico will always be sought after more than the RS2000 because of the lower numbers that were produced. I like them both so makes no difference to me

had neither, prefer the look of the flat fronts, but think i prefer some of the colours the droop snoot came in, will have one soon hopefully!!
