I'm with Richard Wilson on this. In terms of bhp per £ you can't beat the Honda. The prices vary but you will get a 6 speed gearbox and a good low mileage engine for around the £2k mark. It doesn't need to be touched and gives 240bhp. You will need to spend money in other places though. You need an ecu, something like an emerald, a new rev counter and probably speedo. It will have to be dry sumped to get the engine low enough.
Plus you will have to cut the shell up quite a bit to make the gearbox fit. That might be enough to put a lot of people off.sigpic 1976 RS2000

Atmo cossie (16v pinto) is the best for the money . It fits in easy using standard secondhand ford parts , it's a proper Ford engine , they look and sound the best , Steel crank and rods as STANDARD and they have a nice fat torquey power band that will **** past any "peaky with no torque" Honda dog poo .sigpic 2.1 ATMO YB POWER .
Tick tock goes the clock and the clock don't lie .
12.4sec to 109mph With NO turbo , NO gay trailer , NO slicks , NO gas , NO race fuel and NO bits missing . Beat that !!!!
